Akiden Ventures buys into Swiss digital broker LTY to fund national expansion
By Insurance Wire Staff, . Insurance Wire.
A Swiss digital insurance broker has secured its first outside investor as it prepares to push beyond its home region. Coverager reported that LTY, founded and led by chief executive Betim Ramosaj and headquartered in Sion, has brought Akiden Ventures on as a minority shareholder. No financial terms were disclosed.
What the deal brings
Akiden founder Steve Savioz has joined LTY's board. Vincent Privet, who previously served as chief strategy and marketing officer at real estate brokerage Neho, will step in to provide operational and strategic support beginning in January 2027.
LTY combines personal insurance advice with a digital platform that lets clients manage their policies, quotes and claims in one place. The company currently employs 15 people, serves more than 10,000 individual clients and around 700 businesses, and describes itself as profitable.
Where the money goes
The investment is intended to expand LTY's advisory team, accelerate development of its platform, and deepen its footprint across French-speaking Switzerland before moving into German-speaking Switzerland.
The company is also developing an artificial intelligence module in partnership with Idiap, a Swiss research institute, with backing from Fondation The Ark. The tool is designed to enable more proactive risk management and will connect with LTY's customer relationship management, enterprise resource planning and client-facing systems.
Why it matters
For a 15-person brokerage to attract a named venture investor and bring in a board member with a clear expansion mandate is a meaningful step, even without disclosed figures. The combination of a profitable base, a digital platform and an AI development partnership with an academic institution positions LTY differently from a typical regional broker.
The harder question is whether the model scales. Moving from French-speaking to German-speaking Switzerland means entering a market with different language, different competitive dynamics and likely different carrier relationships. The AI module is still in development, so its practical effect on the business is not yet established.
What to watch: whether LTY announces a timeline for the German-speaking Switzerland entry, and whether the Idiap partnership produces a commercially deployed tool or remains a research project.
