Insurity Dorado Release Adds AI Geospatial Tools and Faster Commercial Rating

Insurity, the Hartford, Connecticut-based insurance software company, has released Dorado, a platform update that Insurance Innovation Reporter says advances commercial rating, regulatory content management and AI-powered geospatial analysis across core insurance operations.

What the release adds

At the center of Dorado is the Ratio Content and Rating Engine, which Insurity describes as an API-first tool, meaning it connects directly with other software systems rather than requiring manual data transfers. Bureau rates, rules, forms and statistical codes arrive in machine-readable form and the engine translates them into insurance logic that is ready to deploy. Insurity says it can rate thousands of vehicles in under a minute, a claim aimed squarely at commercial auto and fleet underwriters who currently manage slow, manual rating processes.

Jatin Atre, Insurity's chief executive, framed the release in terms of speed to market. "From rating complex commercial policies in seconds to putting AI-powered insights directly into the hands of decision makers," he said, "Dorado reflects our commitment to helping insurers move at the speed of their ambitions."

AI and geospatial risk tools

Dorado extends the AI capabilities inside SpatialKey, Insurity's geospatial risk platform. Geospatial risk analysis uses location data, maps and satellite imagery to assess how exposed a property or portfolio is to natural hazards such as floods, wildfires or hurricanes. The update adds natural-language analysis, meaning underwriters can ask questions in plain English rather than running technical queries, and broadens access to that location-based risk data for business users who are not data specialists.

Insurity says the goal is to let underwriting teams identify emerging risks and understand their exposures without depending on technical staff to pull and interpret the data for them.

Policy, claims and financial operations

Beyond rating and risk analysis, the release includes changes to policy administration, claims handling and financial processing. Policy transactions are described as more streamlined, and the update adds support for multi-carrier agreements, which allow a single policy to be placed across more than one insurer, and for foreign-currency processing, relevant to carriers writing international or specialty business. Claims adjusters gain easier access to claims information, though the report does not specify what form that access takes.

What to watch

Insurity positions Dorado as a practical, operational release rather than a headline product launch, focused on reducing manual effort and accelerating how quickly carriers can bring new products to market. The natural-language interface for geospatial data is the detail most likely to matter to underwriting teams: if it works as described, it removes a meaningful bottleneck between risk data and the people making coverage decisions.

What the report does not establish is how these capabilities compare with competing platforms, what implementation looks like for existing Insurity customers, or whether the vehicle-rating speed claim holds under real-world conditions. Carriers evaluating the release will want answers to those questions before drawing conclusions about operational impact.
