Guidewire names Dan Brown chief product officer to lead its AI push
By Insurance Wire Staff, . Insurance Wire.
Guidewire has named Dan Brown its chief product officer, a role the company ties directly to its work putting artificial intelligence into its core insurance software, according to Insurance Innovation Reporter.
Brown reports to chief executive Mike Rosenbaum. His remit is product strategy and market execution.
That sits beside Diego Delvalle, Guidewire's chief product development officer, whose remit is engineering and product development. The two titles split the product function in two.
Enterprise software experience
Brown joins from Celonis, where he was chief product officer. He held the same title at Certinia before that, and spent fifteen years at Microsoft across product, research and development, and leadership roles. Guidewire puts his enterprise software experience at more than 25 years.
Rosenbaum said Brown has a record of turning product plans into fast enterprise adoption, and that Guidewire would keep pushing what insurers expect core applications to do.
Brown said what stood out on arriving was how closely customers and partners shape what the company builds, and that Guidewire is already bringing AI into products insurers use.
What it means for insurers
Guidewire is based in San Mateo, California, and sells cloud-based core systems to property and casualty insurers. It has been adding AI across underwriting, claims handling and wider insurance operations.
The announcement names a person and a remit. It does not say which capabilities that produces, in which releases, or on what timetable, and that is the part an insurer plans against. Guidewire's next product cycle is where it gets answered.
