Gallagher acquires New Braunfels benefits firm Mund Group

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired The Mund Group, a New Braunfels, Texas employee benefits agency, according to Coverager. Insurance Business Magazine also reported the deal. No purchase price was disclosed by either outlet.
What Mund Group does
The Mund Group helps businesses in Texas design and manage employee benefits packages, covering health insurance and broader welfare programs. Employee benefits consulting, in plain terms, means advising companies on what health and insurance coverage to offer workers and how to structure and communicate those plans.
Jeff Mund, Brandon Mund, and Kristopher Mund will stay in their current roles and location. They will report to Leah Vetter, who oversees benefits consulting across Gallagher's Central region.

Gallagher Chairman and Chief Executive J. Patrick Gallagher Jr. said the firm "has a long-standing reputation in their community and will expand our employee benefits capabilities in Texas."
