About Insurance Wire

Insurance industry news and analysis: carriers, claims, regulation and insurtech, reported daily, with the day's coverage from across the trade press.

What we publish

Insurance Wire reports on the insurance industry: carriers and reinsurance, claims, regulation, and the technology changing how the business runs. We publish daily across four sections: Carriers, Claims, Regulation and Insurtech.

Two kinds of work sit side by side. Our own reporting and analysis, where we read across several accounts of a story and say what we think is actually happening. And a curated feed of the day's coverage from the wider trade press, so one page tells a professional what moved.

How we treat other publishers' work

When we point to another publication's reporting we show the headline, a short excerpt and a link, and the link goes to them. We do not reproduce articles, and we do not rewrite somebody else's piece and publish it as our own.

The reader gets one place to see what happened. The publication that did the work gets the reader.

Editorial standards

Everything we publish as reporting is intended to be factually accurate. Where we draw on another outlet's work we say which outlet and link to it, so a reader can check the original rather than take our word for it.

Analysis is labelled as analysis. Where a piece reaches a conclusion that goes beyond what the sources establish, it is written as our reading of the evidence and not as an additional fact.

Insurance Wire is produced with a technology-assisted editorial system under standards set and maintained by our editorial team, and every piece remains subject to review, correction and withdrawal.

What we are not

We do not give insurance, legal, actuarial or financial advice, and nothing here is a recommendation about a policy, a carrier or a security. Coverage decisions belong with the licensed professionals who make them.

We are not affiliated with any carrier, broker, regulator or trade body, and we do not accept payment for coverage or for placement in the curated feed.

Bylines

Every article carries a byline. Work produced by the newsroom rather than an individual contributor is published under the Insurance Wire Staff byline.

Contact and corrections

We correct factual errors, and we would rather hear about one from you than leave it standing.

For corrections, editorial enquiries, rights, or to tell us we have linked to you in a way you would rather we did not, email editor@insurancewire.net with a link to the piece. Where a correction changes the substance of an article, we note the change on the article itself.
